Sam Day 5k Run
Purpose
The Sam Day 5K run is a high energy, meaningful way to participate in the fight against childhood cancer.
Sign up to run or walk our 5K while kids have the opportunity to run a quick 100 yard dash created just for them! Your entry fee includes a race shirt, medal, meal and a drink. The kids dash is an additional $10 fee.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and The Sam Day 5K aims to generate a hefty dose of awareness and funding for childhood cancer research. Sam Day Foundation (SDF) programs are centered around some of the most difficult cancers impacting young people. Since SDFlaunched in 2018, more than $1.3 + million has been committed to research, and multiple projects continue to be vetted for additional funding.
Course Description
We will be running on a lovely, shaded street in Beaverton, Oregon, and a pathway through the beautiful THPRD campus. Parking will be available near the start line at Pacific Office Automation.
Important Dates
Friday, August 18th – Last Day to Register to guarantee your shirt size.
Friday, August 25, 2023 – Last Day for Early Bird Registration – $50.00. Kids Dash is $15.
Saturday, September 16th – 8:30am Sam Day 5K Kicks off!
Fundraising
Once you’re signed up, there are plenty of great ways to fundraise:
- Share your online fundraising page with friends and family via email, Facebook and Instagram
- Host your own! (bake sale, garage sale, lemonade stand, etc) and make that your donation.
- See if your employer has a matching program. If so, they may be able to match funds that you raise.
- Post so your friends can see and donate to support the cause.
